FLTA National Fork Lift Truck Safety Conference 2010

Calor Gas - sponsors of the Safety Conference 2010

The FLTA Safety Conference 2010, taking place on September 22nd at Warwick University, will take its central themes further than ever before, and to wider audiences. Book your place here!

Titled The Bigger Picture, it will look at safety issues from a different, more strategic angle. So, for example, what can be done in the planning stages of a project to minimise the chances of a fork lift truck related incident? Who should be thinking about this? When should they start the process?

This year’s Safety Conference, then, will be aimed squarely at those who have the ability to make big changes to businesses’ best practice, and with whom the buck stops.  These are the people who need to know how best to keep people safe at work, and what changes must be made.

This year's Safety Conference programme includes:

Man reversing fork lift truck with woman on back.

  • The true cost of fork lift truck injuries and damage.
  • Global approaches to safe practice – and how best to package it
  • Corporate responsibility and the risk of litigation.
  • The important role of managers and supervisors in ensuring safe practise

For the full programme of events, go to the Safety Conference programme page.

Sir John Spanswick will be giving a keynote speech at the Safety Conference 2010.

Importantly, there will be a keynote address from Sir John Spanswick, representing the Chair of the Health and Safety Executive.

As well as sitting on the Board of the HSE Sir John is Chairman of the Major Contractors Group, Chairman of the Construction Industry Strategic Forum Health and Safety Group and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building.

In June 2006 he was made a CBE in the Queen’s birthday honours in recognition of his services to health and safety and the construction industry.

Bring the boss

We want as wide an audience as possible for the 2010 Safety Conference… there will be much to learn at every level. But this time there will be much more content aimed at the higher levels of management. If you want to get something done about fork lift truck safety, for your company, or a customer, then bring your boss and let him or her find out what they can do to reduce risk.

Bosses are busy people and their diaries fill up fast. Don’t delay in asking them – ask them to commit to the conference, get it in their diary now, and book your tickets now.

Be there!
